Weather Procedures

Track Day Weather Procedures:

Our Band Account will be the official forum we will post on.

(1) Night before by 10pm : If weather shows 40% or more from 4pm-11pm at our location then Racing will be  cancelled for the following day.

(2) If weather shows less than 40% we can post info by 3pm the following day. If on day of racing it’s wet and raining by 3pm then racing canceled.

Clarification

According to our weather rule guide, if the weather forecast predicts a 40% chance of rain or more, we postpone or cancel races by 10 pm the night before. If there's a possibility of improved weather, we extend the decision time until 3 pm on race day, but if the forecast still indicates a 40% or greater chance of rain, we cancel.

However, after 3 pm, In uncertain situations where there’s a chance of weather improvement , and race was NOT already Cancelled we may attempt to race, but there are no guarantees because we're at the mercy of on-the-ground conditions. We want to emphasize that we can't control the weather; The Race Director's role is to monitor and provide the best possible weather predictions by 3 pm and post in our group on race day. Beyond that, we make a good faith effort to race if not already cancelled, but weather conditions can change suddenly.

NOTE*

After 3 pm on race day, we advise each individual to decide for themselves if they want to try to participate in the race and visit the track, taking into account their own information and the unpredictable nature of the weather.

To provide greater clarity, during night-time events with highly unpredictable weather, we typically wait by the trackside to assess any improvements in the weather. If we wait until around 7:30 PM, and the weather hasn't improved, the race is typically cancelled, as time has nearly run out.

Additionally, if we're in the middle of a race and heavy rain begins, it's evident that the race is cancelled as well, because a wet track at night doesn't have enough time to dry.
