Electronics Spotlight: Hobbywing Justock G3S 17.5t Motor/ESC Combo

Following VTA and FSEARA Class Rules, the Hobbywing Justock G3S 17.5T Combo (HW P/N 38020321) is our Approved Class Motor/ESC package of choice for our 1/10th FWD Class. 

Providing  powerful and reliable performance at a relatively low cost,  the Combo package Includes the XERUN JUSTOCK STOCK (G2.1) brushless motor and XERUN XR10 JUSTOCK G3S ESC. Combined the combo keeps the racing balanced on power making the racing highly competitive, relying less on hardware and more on setup and driver skill.

Class Spotlight: 1/10th FWD

Our weekly race program is just one day away! We wanted to take a moment to present a spotlight on our primary class, 1/10 FWD. 

After several years of mixed class attendance at our weekly events, the popularity of the FWD in Florida State Series, brought it's excitement and a collaborative decision by racers to transition to the 1/10th FWD class, and the results have been outstanding! While we welcome any groups of 3 or more to participate, the FWD class has become the track favorite, often bringing over 15 racers to the class, for a variety of reasons. 

First and foremost, the vehicles bring a simplicity and affordability that make it easier to make the leap into the hobby. Combine reasonable chassis costs with friendly price points with our class rules for control tires and electronics, and a complete race package is easy to build and maintain. 

Don't take the simplicity as meaning low performance. These things are fast!! A well built FWD car with an experienced driver behind the controls can bring a challenge to many other classes. At Tamiami RC Raceway, we embrace SPEED, and our class rules allow for open gearing to extract the top performance out of the vehicles at our fast and flowing track!

Most importantly, the cars are FUN to drive! Once properly assembled, the FWD cars enjoy a broad setup window, that make them easy to learn and drive competitively on the track. Meanwhile more experienced drivers are also able to squeeze every ounce of performance out of the cars to challenge each other at a high level. Overall the goal is to have fun and these cars make it possible for everyone!

Wednesday Night Worlds!

Introducing Wednesday Night Worlds as our weekly theme! Take a mid week break and enjoy a fun night at the track! Every week is a chance to race for bragging rights, test equipment, practice strategies, hone your skills and just have FUN in a great atmosphere with RC Friends!

Our Primary class is 1/10 FWD but will add heats for 3 or more of same class, so tell your friends, better yet, BRING THEM!

2024 Year in Review

Tamiami RC Raceway: Exciting 2024 Updates and a Look Back at This Year’s Transformations!

Dear Racers & Tamiami RC Family,

As we wrap up an incredible year at Tamiami RC Raceway, we’re excited to share some of the amazing improvements we’ve made to elevate your racing experience and take our track to the next level!

Recent Improvements

We’re closing out the year with several upgrades to make the track better than ever:

• Enhanced Lighting: New straightaway lights have been installed, bringing the total to two lights on every corner for improved visibility during evening races. This ensures a well-lit track for all racers, no matter the time of day.

• Advanced Cleaning Equipment: We’ve invested in new tools to keep the track in pristine condition, including a backpack blower, a sweeper machine, and a new sprayer. These additions allow us to maintain a spotless racing surface, ensuring consistent grip and performance for every race.

2024: A Year of Major Transformations

This year, we worked tirelessly to improve our facilities, focusing on upgrades that enhance safety, performance, and the overall racing experience:

• Upgraded Drivers’ Stand: A revamped drivers’ stand provides better visibility and comfort for all competitors.

• Corner Sand Snakes: New sand snakes were installed at the track corners to ensure greater safety and reduce the risk of off-track incidents.

• PVC Track Material: We introduced new PVC track material with flexible corners and a robust connecting system for a smoother, more durable layout. This upgrade improves car handling and makes every lap more consistent.

These improvements wouldn’t have been possible without the support of our amazing community of racers, volunteers, and fans. We’re proud to say that Tamiami RC Raceway is now better equipped than ever to host thrilling races and foster camaraderie among RC enthusiasts.

Welcome to Tamiami RC Raceway!

RC Racing Wednesday nights for over 5 years! 

Our track is located at Tamiami Park and runs inside the Roller Rink. The track is open every Wednesday night (Weather Permitting) from 6:00pm until 10:00pm.

Our weekly program schedule tentatively begins with Open Practice. We then aim for Two Rounds of Qualifying Heats and One Main Event. Heats and Mains will be divided among registered participants for the evening.
